Nekdoodle® is a Certified Member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council

Nekdoodle® is pleased to announce its affiliation with the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). The WBENC is the leading authority responsible for the certification of businesses that are owned and operated by

women and also provides a wealth of opportunities for small companies to develop and expand their business. As a certified member, Nekdoodle® is included amongst a group of over 12,000 women-owned independent companies that are making a valuable contribution to the US economy.

WBENC was founded in 1997 and has quickly grown to become the largest third-party certifier of women-owned businesses in the US. WBENC certification is recognized by over 1,000 corporations, including some of the most well-known companies in the US and a growing number of federal and government institutions. In order to be accepted into the council, a company must be at least 51% owned, controlled and managed by a woman or women. The company must also submit a detailed application form that includes their financial information and undergo an onsite visit from a WBENC representative.

WBENC assists Women’s Business Enterprises (WBE) by giving them access to its network of government and corporate members that includes a number of Fortune 500 companies. WBENC connects WBEs with government and corporate agencies in order to create extra jobs and spark economic growth within the US. WBENC also helps to put small independent companies like Nekdoodle® on the map and increases their visibility to potential clients. WBEs are given access to valuable resources through the WBENC such as workshops, seminars, scholarships and promotional opportunities.

Becoming WBENC certified allows a business to compete with larger companies for lucrative contracts with both government and corporate organizations. Many corporations may even require a smaller company to be certified before entering into a contract. Partnering with a WBE demonstrates a company’s commitment to diversity which is particularly useful to government agencies. As well as increasing a company’s profile, WBENC certification lends a certain credibility to a brand that could be the deciding factor when it comes to clients choosing a particular company over its competitors.
